Description

Role
*********Ringfenced to Current LJMU postgraduate taught student on the MSc Forensic Bioscience when employment begins.*********

The MSc Forensic Bioscience programme is developing a coherent, programme level personal tutoring journey that supports students at key transition points across their Master's study.

Two student interns will be appointed as genuine co-researchers and co-designers. Working in partnership with the project lead, they will investigate how students currently experience personal tutoring and related support, identify where clearer or more purposeful contact would add value, and help create and test a practical suite of resources for future cohorts.

The project will produce a visual student-journey map, a concise guide to personal tutoring and staff-role boundaries, preparation and follow-up prompts for tutorial meetings, a student-owned goal and progress planner, research-project and professional-transition resources, and supporting staff and Canvas materials.

The interns' current student perspective is central to ensuring that the language, timing and activities are useful, inclusive and realistic.

Each intern will be employed for 75 hours between 30 November 2026 and 16 April2027. Work will combine scheduled project meetings, consultation and co-design activity with independent review, analysis and resource development. Hours will be arranged around academic commitments and will not exceed seven hours in any teaching week.
