Description

Role

Newcastle University is offering an exciting opportunity for a student, working with the School of HASS Business School.
This opportunity is open to all Newcastle University students on an undergraduate degree for; Economics, Economics and Business Management, Economics and Finance, Mathematics and Economics, or Politics and Economics

Hours to be expected - This role is ad hoc with potential to be working up to 20 hours per week. Students will deliver workshops for schools in the north east. These workshops are spread across the year so the students will not be working every week. It depends on when schools can fit the workshops in and this is a negotiation process, I don't yet have the dates yet. When schools agree on a date I send a call out to the students registered and see who can cover that workshops. So how many hours a student works also depends on their availability and motivation.
Work will be completed on campus and various other Schools in the North East.

Discover Economics is a project of the Royal Economic Society. University students deliver workshops for year 10- 12 pupils in comprehensive schools to increase interest in studying Economics at university. The aim of the workshops is to increase diversity by attracting pupils who wouldn't normally consider studying Economics.. Your role would be to help prepare and deliver these workshops alongside other fellow Economics Workshop Facilitators. The workshops have Economics content. You will be expected to work up to 50 hours from December 2026 until July 2027.
