Role

The Scholar Ambassador Programme plays an important role in demonstrating the real impact of philanthropic support on students' lives. Through sharing their experiences, Scholar Ambassadors help build meaningful connections with alumni and donors, showcase the value of giving, and inspire future support for the University of Warwick.

  • Postgraduate taught and postgraduate research students in their first or second year at Warwick

Please note that Scholar Ambassadors are expected to complete a minimum of two engagements per academic year. Opportunities are offered on a flexible basis and can be arranged around your studies and other commitments.

Duties and responsibilities

The Donor Relations team will provide training at the start of the year, alongside a detailed briefing before each engagement, to ensure Scholar Ambassadors feel confident and well prepared.

  • Attend meetings and visits with alumni, donors, and prospective supporters, either in person or online, to discuss your Warwick experience and the impact of donor funding.
  • Deliver informative and engaging campus tours for alumni, donors, and prospective supporters.
  • Attend alumni and donor events as a guest, panellist or speaker, both on and off campus.
  • Conduct donor thank-you calls to express gratitude for their support and help strengthen relationships with the donor community.
  • Take part in interviews and case studies for printed publications, digital communications and marketing materials.
  • Support other ad hoc projects and administrative activities within the Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE) team.

  • Content creation – help shape engaging communications that celebrate the achievements and experiences of Warwick scholars.
  • Conducting donor ‘thank you’ calls to our donor community to express our gratitude for their support and to promote continued giving.
  • Sharing your experience as part of interviews - this could include filming and Teams interviews for printed publications and online marketing platforms.
