Role
Our prestigious client is seeking a motivated, compassionate and resilient Education and Youth Mentor to work predominantly with young people in secondary schools.
The successful candidate will provide targeted one-to-one mentoring and small-group support to young people who may be experiencing barriers to learning, difficulties with attendance or behaviour, emotional challenges or disengagement from education.
The role will involve building positive and trusting relationships, supporting young people to develop essential life skills, encouraging positive behaviour and helping them work towards meaningful personal and educational goals.
Working collaboratively with schools, families and other professionals, the Education and Youth Mentor will play an important role in helping young people re-engage with education, improve their wellbeing and develop the confidence and resilience needed to move forward positively.
This position is open to both part time and full time hours. The location of work is predominantly secondary schools, with travel to other educational settings and locations as required. Working hours will generally follow the school day. However, flexibility will be required to meet the needs of young people, schools and the wider service. This may include occasional work outside standard school hours to attend meetings, support interventions, liaise with families, complete training or undertake other duties associated with the role.
This role is term time only. Due to the travel requirements of the role, a full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
