Description

Role

The University of Leicester is seeking an Associate Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour to support delivery of MN7401 Organisational Behaviour, a 15-credit postgraduate module taught on the MSc Healthcare Management within the School of Management. The successful candidate will prepare and deliver lectures during Semester 1 of the 2026/27 academic year, in line with the approved module specification.

Working closely with the module convenor and Associate Tutor, you will help ensure that lectures and seminars provide students with a coherent programme of learning. The role offers an opportunity to contribute up-to-date knowledge of organisational behaviour and its application across contemporary workplaces and different regions of the world.

Duties and responsibilities

You will deliver 16 hours of lectures on organisational behaviour models, theories and concepts, including their application in different organisational, workplace and regional contexts. You will update existing lecture materials where appropriate, consulting with the module convenor and ensuring that all teaching remains aligned with the module specification. Materials must be made available through the University’s Blackboard virtual learning environment.

You will share lecture materials and key themes with the Associate Tutor so that seminar activities build effectively on the lectures. You will also support students in understanding module content and preparing for their individual assignment, signpost appropriate academic and pastoral support, record student engagement where required, and attend relevant module team meetings. The postholder will liaise with the module convenor, Associate Tutor, MSc Healthcare Management Programme Director and relevant professional services colleagues.

Skills and experience

You will have a PhD, be nearing completion of a PhD, or possess equivalent experience in management, organisational behaviour, human resource management or a closely related discipline. You will have current knowledge of organisational behaviour theory and its application to contemporary workplace issues, together with experience of delivering lectures in higher education. You must be able to design and deliver engaging teaching that communicates complex ideas clearly and demonstrate effective oral communication and presentation skills.

You will have a high level of proficiency in English, be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a module team, and demonstrate IT competency, including familiarity with virtual learning environments. Fellowship of Advance HE or a recognised teaching qualification, experience of teaching postgraduate or international cohorts in UK higher education, knowledge of healthcare or public-sector organisations, and experience of using live cases and published research in teaching would be advantageous.
