Description
Role
We are seeking a research assistant with extensive experience analysing survey data, to analyse data collected from a survey about farmer attitudes towards gene edited crops. Subject area expertise is not required, more important is your experience working independently with survey data. This role would suit a late-stage PhD student or someone with a Masters degree or substantial work experience leading quantitative survey analysis. Support will be provided through regular meetings with the research team, and the work can be conducted online with occasional in-person meetings.

End Date: 15/04/2027
Working Hours: 2.5 Hours per week – To be arranged directly by the hiring manager
Pay Rate: £20.58 per hour
Holiday Pay Rate: £2.48 per hour

Duties and responsibilities
- Analysing previously collected farmer survey data
- Writing a report of survey results in paper format
- Setting up, launching, and cleaning data for a consumer survey on JISC (survey already written and ethical approval
- obtained)
Skills and experience
- Experience of analysing quantitative survey data independently
- Experience of interpreting survey findings and presenting results clearly in written reports
- Experience of working with survey platforms such as Jisc Online Surveys, including survey set-up, data collection, and data cleaning
- Good attention to detail when checking, cleaning and preparing datasets for analysis
