Description

Role

The University of Leicester is seeking a proactive and highly organised Programme Curriculum & Assessment Administrator to join its professional services team on a temporary basis through Unitemps. This role is central to delivering an excellent student experience, providing administrative support to undergraduate and postgraduate taught students, and ensuring the smooth operation of key curriculum and assessment processes. The successful candidate will work across a range of programme activities and contribute to maintaining and enhancing administrative processes throughout the student lifecycle.

As part of the University's WorkSmart approach, the role may involve a combination of on-campus and remote working in line with business requirements. You will be joining a collaborative environment that values innovation, continuous improvement, and exceptional service delivery.

Duties and responsibilities

You will support a wide range of programme administration activities, including assessment administration, timetabling, monitoring student progression and engagement, maintaining student records, and supporting virtual learning environments. The role involves managing assessment and feedback processes in accordance with University regulations, organising examination boards, liaising with external examiners, and ensuring assessment deadlines are communicated and monitored effectively. You will also respond to enquiries from students, academic colleagues, and external stakeholders, providing accurate and timely support.

In addition, you will contribute to programme quality assurance and monitoring activities, supporting curriculum planning, programme review and annual monitoring processes. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the University, you will assist with data collection and reporting, service committees through agenda and minute preparation, and help identify opportunities to improve systems and processes.

Skills and experience

You will be educated to A Level standard or equivalent, with experience gained in a relevant administrative environment. You should have experience managing complex record systems, using initiative and sound judgement to resolve issues, and handling confidential information sensitively in line with Data Protection requirements. Strong organisational skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders are essential.

The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work accurately under pressure while managing multiple priorities. A flexible and positive approach, strong team-working skills, and the ability to interpret regulations and provide appropriate guidance will be key to success in this role. Knowledge of Higher Education administration and University systems would be advantageous
