Role
The University of Surrey are recruiting a sighted guide to support one of our students on their clinical dietetic placement at Frimley Park Hospital.
34-37.5 per week.
£13.18 per hour.
£1.59 per hour holiday pay.
Start 4th January 2027 - 12/3/27 - possibly extended until 26/3/27.
Duties and responsibilities
• Working in a hospital environment, sitting in on service user consultations with student dietitian. Maybe required to visually describe consultation to student.
• To support the student to document information as part of nutritional assessment –this includes identifying information from medical notes and transcribing student’s work into service user record system.
• May be required to support student navigating unfamiliar environments within the hospital.
Skills and experience
Full sighted guide training will be provided.
• Must be able to commute to and from Frimley Park Hospital.
• To have worked in healthcare and/or nutrition and dietetics.
• Ability to understand some medical abbreviations.
