Role
The University of Surrey are recruiting a Resourcing Assistant.
Duties and responsibilities
-
Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process for each vacancy in collaboration with Hiring Managers, ensuring an efficient, effective, and positive hiring experience.

Manage candidates professionally throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a positive candidate experience and that all individuals are treated fairly, consistently, and equitably.

Ensure all recruitment activity complies with relevant internal policies and external legislation, including GDPR, UKVI regulations, and the Equality Act, keeping up to date with changes to maintain ongoing compliance.

Support Hiring Managers throughout the offer process by providing advice where required, preparing offer documentation, and ensuring information is communicated promptly and accurately to the HR Operations team for onboarding.

Provide administrative support to the Resourcing Team, including tasks such as raising purchase orders and arranging candidate parking, ensuring all activities are completed accurately, to a high standard, and within agreed timescales.

Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring queries and issues are resolved efficiently, effectively, and professionally.

Escalate more complex or unique queries to the Resourcing Team Leader as appropriate

Provide on-site support for interviews when required.
Skills and experience

Vocational qualifications plus several years relevant work experience. Or: Learning gained through work experience of a number of years. Will include short courses and other formal training. |

Accountability
The post holder works within a framework of established processes, procedures and standard work instructions as determined by the HR department and employment legislation.
Incorrect data input or advice to staff could impact financially on the employee and departments/faculty or may result in legal repercussions if not identified before the situation escalates.
Problem Solving and Decision Making
The post holder will be required to apply their judgment and initiative to provide solutions to basic operational HR problems as they encounter them.
Guidance and advice for the resolution of new or more complex or unprecedented issues should be sought from a more senior team member or through their line manager.
