Description

Role

TICE-HE is a project by the University of Warwick Department of Computer Science, Warwick’s Education Academy, and the Raspberry Pi Computing Education Research Centre at the University of Cambridge. The project will support a small group of computing academics to explore questions about their teaching. The project will involve participants working asynchronously with digital resources and learning materials.

We are looking for an experienced educational resource developer to work with the project team to develop the digital learning resources and other materials that will support participants' engagement in the project. You will help shape and produce these resources with the project team, then update a webpage to share them.

The project runs from November 2026 to October 2027. We expect the work to take around 40 hours in total, concentrated in November and December 2026.

You will work closely with the project team and manage your own tasks.

Duties and responsibilities

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Agreeing a clear plan with the project team for the resources and webpage, including the intended audience, content, format and deadlines.
  • Working with the team to develop practical guidance, and other materials that computing academics can use to investigate their teaching.
  • Creating clear, accessible layouts for the resources and any downloads.
  • Building the project webpage and uploading the resources.
  • Checking the webpage and resources for accuracy, accessibility, working links and ease of use, then making agreed revisions before handover.

Skills and experience

Essential skills and experience:

  • Current postgraduate student with an interest in higher education teaching and learning.
  • Experience of developing educational resources for higher education, from draft content through to materials ready for use.
  • Experience of web development and publishing content on a website.
  • Ability to turn ideas and draft materials into clear, practical resources for an academic audience.
  • Good editing and written communication skills, with attention to accuracy, layout and accessibility.
  • Ability to work with colleagues to develop materials, respond to feedback and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a limited allocation of hours.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience using a site builder to create and maintain web pages.
  • Experience producing accessible digital resources, templates or case studies.
  • Familiarity with computing education or academic development.

Location
Primarily remote, with online meetings with the project team and participants. Any attendance at Warwick or Cambridge would be agreed in advance and subject to available expenses.
