Only for Current Mandarin Speaking Students
The Language and Culture Exchange scheme (LCExchange) is based on the idea ofconnecting students who speak different languages so that they can learn from oneanother via informal online language classes. All activities are run by other students.This approach creates a more relaxed and fun atmosphere when learning and givesparticipants the opportunity to meet new people and build networks.
Duties and responsibilities
You will run online language and culture classes and/or develop self-access materials tofor students to follow independently.
Duties:
- Prepare starter-level language classes for teaching on MS Teams.
- Facilitate classes by presenting new language and giving students opportunity to practise.
- Use PowerPoint and games to ensure classes have visual stimulus and are engaging.
- Explore cultural topics which develop participants’ (inter) cultural awareness.
- If required, create engaging self-access language learning materials for studentsto use online.
Skills and experience
- Proficiency in Mandarin language
- IT skills (Microsoft Teams)
