Role

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Student Helper to welcome and assist students visiting the Careers Centre. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact and will play a crucial role in enhancing our students' experience. We are looking for someone who is outgoing, dependable, and able to help create a welcoming environment.

The shifts for this role will be from 11am-2pm Monday to Friday, except during Week 6 (consolidation week). Please only apply for this role if you are available during this time on one or more weekdays. We are looking for someone who can start working as soon as possible.

Duties and responsibilities

• Welcome students as they enter the Careers Service and ensure they feel comfortable
• Provide students with information about the Careers Service and its services.
• Assist students with any inquiries they may have and deal with requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Manage the flow of students to ensure a smooth and efficient check-in process
• Coordinate with other members of the Careers team to ensure a positive experience for our users.
• Actively seek ways to improve the user experience and make recommendations to the Careers team
• Perform other duties as assigned by management. 

Skills and experience

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner
• Ability to handle queries with tact and diplomacy
• Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic
• Experience in a customer-facing role preferred
