Role
Help welcome new students to the University and be the friendly face of Progression Pathways. 

 
Please note: you will need to have previously participated on the Progression Pathway Programme to eligible for this role.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Supporting the Progression Pathways welcome stand and engaging with new students.
  • Introducing new students to the Progression Pathways programme.
  • Approaching and speaking with students about what the programme offers.
  • Explaining who can get involved in the programme.
  • Sharing information about upcoming events, workshops and opportunities.
  • Encouraging eligible students to sign up or register their interest.
  • Handing out promotional materials, such as flyers.
  • Helping to create a welcoming and engaging stand.
  • Assisting with setting up and packing down stand materials.
  • Answering basic questions about the programme.
  • Signposting students to staff or online information where appropriate.
  • Encouraging students to follow the programme’s social media and online channels.
  • Keeping students informed about future updates and opportunities.
  • Representing the Progression Pathways programme in a friendly, inclusive and professional manner.

Skills and experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly, approachable and confident when engaging with students.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organisation, reliability and time management skills.
  • Able to use initiative and respond positively to questions or unexpected situations.
  • A welcoming, inclusive and professional approach.
  • Enthusiasm for supporting new students and representing the University.
