Role
This role supports the Progression Pathways programme by engaging with new students, promoting opportunities and events, and creating a welcoming and positive first impression of the programme.
Duties and responsibilities
- Supporting the Progression Pathways welcome stand, engaging with new students and introducing them to the programme.
- Approaching and speaking with students to explain what the programme offers and who can get involved.
- Sharing information about upcoming events, workshops and opportunities available through the programme.
- Encouraging eligible students to sign up or register their interest in the programme.
- Handing out promotional materials, such as flyers.
- Helping to create a welcoming and engaging stand, including setting up and packing down materials.
- Answering basic questions about the programme and signposting students to staff or online information where appropriate.
- Encouraging students to follow the programme’s social media/online channels to stay updated.
- Representing the Progression Pathways programme in a friendly, inclusive and professional manner.
Skills and experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, approachable and confident engaging with students.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good organisation, reliability and time management.
- Able to use initiative and respond positively to questions or unexpected situations.
- A welcoming, inclusive and professional approach.
- Enthusiasm for supporting new students and representing the University.
