Are you passionate about presentation standards and working in a fast-paced retail environment? We’re looking for a Night Retail Supervisor to join our team at the new Co-op store on campus.
Duties and responsibilities
To manage a replenishment team to provide; strong product availability, efficient and effective service for the COOP shop
1) Supervise the running of the night shift which will include:
- Allocating work and tasks to members of the team, considering their experience & skills Ensuring that the shop is always adequately stocked.
- Replenishing and displaying stock to planograms, following the SOP, ensuring every product has a shelf edge label.
- Working all stock (delivery, top stock and warehouse overs), ensuring replenishment is completed in rotation order.
- Storing over stocks that will not go on display appropriately either as; top stock, in the warehouse, coldstore and freezer in an organised and efficient manner.
- Implementing necessary price changes during closure of store in line with promotion planner.
2) Ensure the shop is maintained and presented in a ‘customer ready’ state:
- Clearing and sorting rubbish for recycling collection.
- Maintaining food and hygiene, including date code checking, ensuring all shelves are clean before replenishing stock items in the right place.
- Dealing with damaged goods to SOPs, maintaining a consciousness of Health and Safety implications.
3) Customer service champion:
- Training and monitoring the quality of customer service levels delivered by colleagues.
- Deal with problems, queries or complaints from staff or customers.
- Assisting customers at tills, processing sales in line with legal obligations.
4) Opening and closing of the store where required.
5) Training colleagues in all store processes and procedures.
6) You will follow all local policies and the University’s Financial Regulations
7) Any other duties commensurate with the grade of the job.
Skills and experience
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent; literate and numerate.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations, Food Hygiene and Trading Standards.
- Flexibility to meet the demands of the post.
- Experience of working in a busy shop / retail environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Organisational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Approachable.
- Good communication skills.
- Polite and courteous at all times.
