Duties and responsibilities

This internship provides the opportunity for an undergraduate student to work within the Micah Liverpool staff team. Micah

Liverpool is a social justice charity and proud to be one of LJMU's charity partners. Micah works to support people in the city

experiencing poverty and social injustices. The charity currently has a particular focus on food poverty, employment and child

bed poverty. The main purpose of this role is to increase Micah Liverpool's social media presence by making appropriate

content to share on a range of platforms including Micah's website. Micah has previously benefitted from a cohort of LJMU

Third Year Business Studies students who provided a brand awareness and financial sustainability proposal. Part of this

internship would be to implement some of the proposal relating to Micah's brand and help develop messaging through Micah's

online presence.

The main duties include:

Develop social media content to increase and monitor Micah's reach and engagement

Schedule social media content and identify trends for engagement

Plan and create engaging, appropriate content across platforms, including Micah's website

Work with colleagues to adapt and use all types of written and visual work into strong content which captures the vital work

that Micah does.

Create video, audio and written content which is respectful of the sensitivities of Micah's work

Research and develop ways to capture Micah's brand and messaging.

Skills and experience

An enthusiasm for, understanding of or experience in social justice or charity work

Skills to develop engaging and motivating digital content and branding to communicate clear and sensitive messaging which

raises the profile of the charity

Strong editing and writing skills suitable for a range of platforms

Use web-based analytics and available applications for analysis and reporting

Use a range of digital tools to plan, manage and analyse content as well as to edit video

Experience of delivering cohesive, compelling and effective social media
