Role
Please note that we can only accept applications from current University of Leicester students.
Duties and responsibilities
- Support the delivery of Let's Do Leicester sessions, including set-up, pack-down and equipment management.
- Welcome participants and help create a safe, friendly, enjoyable and inclusive environment.
- Record attendance and support monitoring, evaluation and feedback processes.
- Promote Let's Do Leicester activities through events, campaigns, social media and student engagement opportunities.
- Support initiatives aimed at increasing participation amongst underrepresented student groups.
- Gather participant feedback and share insights with the Sport & Active Life team to support programme development.
- Create simple social media, photography or video content where appropriate to help showcase activities and successes.
- Represent Sport & Active Life at University events and promotional activities where required.
Skills and experience
Essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational skills and time management.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Friendly, approachable and enthusiastic attitude.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Good knowledge of the University of Leicester student experience.
- Willingness to complete all mandatory training.
- Previous ambassador, activator, volunteer or student leadership experience.
- Experience in customer service, sport, leisure, physical activity or events.
- Experience promoting activities through social media or supporting campaigns.
- Photography, videography or content creation skills.
- Experience working with diverse communities or underrepresented groups.
- Current First Aid qualification.
Location
University of Leicester Campus and Halls of Residence.
