Role
Duties and responsibilities
Content creation (most of the role)
- Brainstorm and pitch ideas for TikTok and Instagram content that will engage our audience.
- Film and edit short form videos for TikTok and Instagram.
- Collaborate with our social media officers on filming and editing videos for TikTok and Instagram.
- Take photos of university events and uni life for our social channels.
- Research and stay updated on Instagram and TikTok trends, features, and algorithm changes.
- Analyse competitors and industry trends to inform our approach to social media.
- Monitor for and reply to comments and messages on all our channels.
- Foster a sense of community by actively engaging with our audience in the comments.
- Collect user generated content from students across the uni that showcases life at Middlesex.
Skills and experience
- A strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram.
- Comfortable being on camera.
- Confident taking photos and video with an iphone.
- Comfortable using your phone to film and edit videos.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Creativity and a sense of humour – ability to think outside the box!

Hendon Campus (Fenella Building)

You will be mentored by the Social Media Manager and Social Media Editor for Middlesex University and gain skills that will be transferrable to most digital marketing and social media roles. You’ll be given the opportunity to contribute to the Universities new social media strategy in a meaningful way.
