Role
Technical assistants required to provide dedicated assistance to users of audio-visual equipment in one of the main lecture theatres within the university.

Duties and responsibilities

This will include but is not limited to:

  • Provide a contact person in case of questions or issues in the use of the system.
  • User guidance in operating the system.
  • Assisting lecturers to connect laptops to the system.
  • Daily testing of the audio-visual equipment for the assigned room. Testing will follow a testing script.
  • Basic troubleshooting of issues found and logging support calls where these issues cannot be rectified.

Skills and experience

  • Possess an understanding of IT/AV.
  • Good range of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work independently.
