Role

Our client, a well established cutting edge manufacturer is looking for an intern who can support a technical digital transformation project focused on mapping our clients current IT infrastructure and systems used to support technical and compliance processes. 
The role will identify manual bottlenecks and opportunities for software support across labelling, Safety Data Sheets, Technical Data Sheets, Poison Control Notifications and regulatory scanning. 
The successful intern will also support the selection and early-stage implementation of software to automate labelling and SDS/TDS generation, while helping to improve the structure, version control and flow of technical documentation and customer technical enquiries.
 
Reporting line
 
The intern will report to the Head of Technical, who is part of the Leadership Team and reports to the Managing Director.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Map current IT infrastructure and systems supporting technical and compliance processes, including labelling, Safety Data Sheets, Technical Data Sheets, Poison Control Notifications and regulatory scanning.
  • Identify manual bottlenecks, duplicated effort and opportunities where software could improve accuracy, efficiency and control.
  • Support the selection and early-stage implementation of a software solution to automate labelling and SDS/TDS generation.
  • Build SharePoint document libraries and Lists to structure, store and version-control technical documentation.
  • Explore the use of Power Apps and Power Automate to log, route and track customer technical enquiries between sales and technical teams.
  • Support automated tracking and reporting of customer technical enquiries and technical documentation workflows.
  • Work with the Head of Technical and relevant team members to gather process information, test solutions and document outcomes

Skills and experience

ESSENTIAL: 

  • Good IT literacy
  • Interest in digital systems, process improvement and compliance documentation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to map processes and communicate clearly with technical and commercial colleagues
  • Organised approach to documentation and record keeping.

DESIRABLE: 

  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, Power Apps or Power Automate
  • Awareness of technical or regulatory documentation such as labelling, Safety Data Sheets or Technical Data Sheets
  • Experience of data entry, workflow mapping or software implementation support.

Sparkhill, Birmingham - Option for hybrid role, on site full time is preferred
