Role
We're looking for enthusiastic and friendly Student Ambassadors to help welcome our new students and support disabled students during induction week during Induction Week.

Duties and responsibilities

As an Induction Buddy, you'll play an important role in helping students settle into university life by:

  • Providing a friendly face and warm welcome
  • Helping students find their way around campus
  • Supporting students to get to different induction sessions on time
  • Explaining timetables and schedules
  • Answering questions and sharing your student experience
  • Providing sighted guiding support where required
  • Helping new students feel confident, included, and connected

Skills and experience

  • An understanding of disability, accessibility, or neurodiversity would be beneficial, but the most important qualities are a friendly, approachable, and supportive attitude.
  • Previous experience supporting or guiding visually impaired people would be an advantage; however, guidance will be provided, so no prior experience is required.
