Role
40 hours planning and supporting an event at Dover’s Maison Dieu in November 2026, as part of the Being Human Festival. 

Being Human is the UK’s national festival of the humanities, led by the School of Advanced Study at the University of London in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy. 
 
The festival aims to:
  1. demonstrate the value and relevance of humanities research to society in the UK and globally;
  2. encourage, support and create opportunities for researchers to engage with non-specialist audiences;
  3. embed and join together public engagement activities in the humanities across the higher education (HE) sector.

Duties and responsibilities
Working with a Creative Writing intern, you will co-design an escape room as part of CCCU’s Being Human Festival event 'Gaol, Drains and Dunkirk: The Sensory History of Dover.' You may also be expected to take on some administrative duties.

Skills and experience
You will be studying a Psychology degree at CCCU and have an interest in olfaction and / or psychology in heritage settings. You will have a demonstrable track record in EDI and / or relevant lived experience.
