Role

Unitemps are recruiting for a Student Ambassador within the Careers Service department. The role is to work the date of Friday 25th September and will run until Wednesday 30th September part time at 15.25 hours per week. Payment is set at £14.85+ holiday pay per hour and the role will be CAMPUS based.

Duties and responsibilities

  • UCL Careers will have a presence at the upcoming Support Services Fairs (Bloomsbury), on Monday 28th September - Wednesday 30th September. The Careers area will be hosted by staff in the team, as well as two Student Ambassadors.
  • We are looking for two Student Ambassadors to assist the Careers staff on the days by sharing the UCL Careers offering and their own experiences as a UCL student with prospective students and their guests.
  • This advertisement is specifically for the Student Ambassador (Careers) vacant posts for the Support Services Fairs hosted at Bloomsbury.
  • A separate advertisement is live for the vacant Student Ambassador (Careers) posts for the Support Services Fair hosted at UCL East: Please feel free to apply for both posts.
  • Ambassadors are expected to approach and partake in active conversations with stand attendees to discuss UCL Careers' services (30 mins briefing and supporting document to be provided)
  • Show energy and a willingness to provide customer service- Maintain the stand marketing materials supply by liaising with the Marketing Communications Officer
  • Pack-up and pack-down the stand at the beginning of and at the end of each day
  • Assist with more general queries about UCL if asked by attendees

Skills and experience

  • UCL undergraduate current student
  • We are looking for confident students who are able to provide great customer service in a busy and dynamic environment- Past, proven engagement with the Careers service is necessary
  • Applicants must be enthusiastic and keen to promote UCL to prospective students
  • Confidence in exchanging information about UCL Careers is essential
  • The ability to answer a range of questions about how Careers helps students and takes into consideration what pressing issues visitors are enquiring about (a briefing will be provided)
  • Be proactive in welcoming attendees to our stand when on the approach and to initiate conversations as part of the visitor journey
  • Applicants must be available to work for the following times: Friday 25th September (briefing call to take place on Teams, invite to be sent if your application is successful): 10:00am - 10:30am Monday 28th September: 09:45am - 15:00pm Tuesday 29th September: 10:30am - 15:00pm Wednesday 30th September: 10:30am - 15:30pm
