Role

The role of the Open Day Assistant is to support at the October Undergraduate Open Days. The role will require you to work alongside the Student Recruitment Team and the Warwick Welcome Service. 

It will give you the opportunity to speak with prospective students and their supporters (parents/carers/teachers), sharing your experience of University Life and helping to develop their understanding of studying at Warwick. 

This post is open to all students at the University of Warwick. 

Please only apply for this role if you are available to work on Saturday 11th October and Saturday 25th October. A compulsory briefing will be beforehand, possibly 8th October which you will also need to be able to attend.

Please ensure you are available for the below dates before applying: 

- Training - 7th October for in-person training 4-6pm  *If you are unavailable for the training date, then you will be unable to attend the Open Days.   

-1st Open Day: 10th October – shift times are between 9-4pm 

2nd Open Day: 24th October - shift times are between 9-4pm 

Notes: -You must be available for training to work the Open Days  

-You can be available for one date of the Open Day’s; however, both dates are preferred.  

Applications close midnight the 6th September, and a form to capture further details will be sent 8/9th September. All working is subject to completing right to work checks with unitemps

Duties and responsibilities

  • Greeting visitors and answering general questions about university and student life 
  • Assisting with the set-up and clear down at the events 
  • Providing directions to places on campus 
  • Acting as a positive role model in an approachable and friendly manner 
  • Sharing your university experiences with prospective students and families from a range of backgrounds 
  • Supporting session/event leads where appropriate 

Skills and experience

Additional information

Uniform: Uniform provided, sensible shoes for walking / potential wet weather, long sleeve in black/white advised for October or a t shirt underneath polo provided
