Role

Unitemps are acting as an Employment Business, supplying temporary workers, in relation to this vacancy.

The University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) is an admissions test, used by a consortium of UK and international partner universities to help select applicants to their medical and dental degree programmes.  The UCAT Consortium is a national organisation based at the University of Nottingham.  More details regarding the test and the organisation can be found on the UCAT website: ucat.ac.uk

The test is currently being delivered, with around 45,000 candidates expected to test by the end of September.

The UCAT team (n=3) is based at the University of Nottingham but largely works remotely.  You will work alongside existing team members to ensure test candidates are well supported during this period.

Start Date: ASAP
Length of Assignment: To 6th October.
Working Hours: Daily 4-5 hours a day; potential for additional hours. Highest demand for the role is at the start of the week

Pay Rate: £14:00
Holiday Pay: 1.69
Location: Remote

Duties and responsibilities

Your role will involve a broad range of candidate support processes including:

  • Approving and advising (through email/secure messages) on access arrangements
  • Undertaking investigations into candidate incidents during testing and advising them on outcomes.
  • Supporting candidates who will not be or were not fit to test and advising them regarding options.
  • Responding to general candidate queries regarding booking and sitting the test.

You may be involved in supporting processes around results delivery to universities.  Once testing is finished you may be involved in reviewing various aspects of delivery to feed into improving services in 2027.

Skills and experience

Skills    

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and demonstrate flexibility
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Judgement and understanding of how to respond to and route a diverse range of enquiries
  • Understanding the importance of confidentiality
  • Ability to be diplomatic in sensitive situations

 

Knowledge and experience  

  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment
  • Experience of working with spreadsheets
  • Experience of administrative roles and support.
  • Experience of working with people from a range of backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to manage confidential situations and information with discretion.
