Role

As a ThinkHigher Student Ambassador, you will support the delivery of impactful and exciting events, workshops, and activities in schools, colleges, and on campus whilst inspiring and empowering young people aged 11-18 particularly from underrepresented backgrounds. 

Our projects aim to provide young people with positive insight into higher education through interactive, fun, and engaging sessions, and we’re on the hunt for student ambassadors who can help us to continue with this mission, with a particular focus on support during Term 1!

Our ambassadors are University of Warwick students who love connecting with young people and are passionate about helping them build confidence, explore opportunities, and feel motivated about their future pathways. 

There will also be opportunities to deliver presentations and sessions for young people, which is perfect if you enjoy public speaking and connecting with young audiences.

Duties and responsibilities

* Support the delivery of ThinkHigher events, workshops, and activities in schools, colleges, and on campus. You will be able to choose which activities you are available to support us on

* Act as a positive role model, sharing your experiences of university life and study

* Engage and interact with young people to inspire confidence and raise aspirations

* Provide practical support at events, including registration, set-up, and supervision of activities

* Encourage participation and create an inclusive, welcoming environment for all learners

* Always represent ThinkHigher in an enthusiastic manner

* Assist with the evaluation of activities by gathering feedback from participants

* Work collaboratively with fellow Ambassadors and ThinkHigher staff to ensure the smooth running of events.

Skills and experience

Essential:

* Currently enrolled as a student at the University of Warwick

* Passionate about our mission in supporting and inspiring all young people with a focus on those from underrepresented backgrounds  

* An interest in widening access to higher education and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with young people

* Reliable, professional, and able to represent ThinkHigher positively

* Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support a variety of activities and events

* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

* Must have the right to work in the UK

* No formal qualifications are required beyond university enrolment; full training will be provided

Desirable

* Previous experience working with young people (e.g., mentoring, tutoring, outreach, volunteering, or coaching) 

* Experience supporting or helping to run events or activities

* Organisational skills and the ability to take initiative when required.
