Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team in Rugeley. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop or begin their legal career within a respected law firm. The successful candidate will provide support to solicitors across a range of legal matters, helping to deliver high-quality legal services to clients while gaining valuable practical experience. 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assisting solicitors with the management of client matters from inception through to completion.
  • Drafting legal documents, correspondence, forms, and court bundles.
  • Undertaking legal research and preparing case summaries.
  • Liaising professionally with clients, barristers, courts, experts, and other third parties.
  • Managing diaries, appointments, and key deadlines.
  • Organising, reviewing, and maintaining legal files and documentation.
  • Supporting client onboarding, file opening, and compliance procedures.
  • Assisting with billing and general matter administration.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with SRA regulations and in accordance with the firm’s Lexcel accreditation, firm policies, and data protection requirements.
  • Attending client meetings and court hearings
  • Attending network meetings and events

Skills and experience

  • University degree in Law
  • Previous experience in a legal support, legal assistant, or paralegal role preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, IT equipment and typing ability.
  • Professional, client-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
