Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team in Rugeley. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop or begin their legal career within a respected law firm. The successful candidate will provide support to solicitors across a range of legal matters, helping to deliver high-quality legal services to clients while gaining valuable practical experience.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assisting solicitors with the management of client matters from inception through to completion.
- Drafting legal documents, correspondence, forms, and court bundles.
- Undertaking legal research and preparing case summaries.
- Liaising professionally with clients, barristers, courts, experts, and other third parties.
- Managing diaries, appointments, and key deadlines.
- Organising, reviewing, and maintaining legal files and documentation.
- Supporting client onboarding, file opening, and compliance procedures.
- Assisting with billing and general matter administration.
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with SRA regulations and in accordance with the firm’s Lexcel accreditation, firm policies, and data protection requirements.
- Attending client meetings and court hearings
- Attending network meetings and events
Skills and experience
- University degree in Law
- Previous experience in a legal support, legal assistant, or paralegal role preferred but not essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications, IT equipment and typing ability.
- Professional, client-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
