Role
The College of Science & Engineering is seeking two proactive and organised Curriculum and Assessment Administration Assistants to support the administration of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes from enquiry through to graduation.

 
Working as part of a dedicated administrative team, you will provide an efficient and responsive service to prospective students, current students, academic colleagues, external agencies and a wide range of University departments. Based within either the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences or the Physics and Engineering cluster, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth delivery of teaching and assessment activities. 
 
You will be expected to respond positively to changing priorities, support colleagues across the College when required and contribute to continuous service improvement in collaboration with the Business Administration Manager.

Duties and responsibilities
You will support the administration of taught degree programmes through activities including processing coursework submissions, feedback and marks entry, maintaining student records, updating information on Blackboard and supporting examination processes.

 
The role involves responding to enquiries in person, by email and by telephone, providing guidance on procedures and ensuring accurate record keeping across a range of student and programme administration activities. In addition, you will undertake a variety of general office duties including ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, coordinating mail distribution, reporting maintenance issues and supporting meetings and events related to teaching activities. 
 
The role also requires regular liaison with academic staff, Student and Academic Services, IT Services, Finance and other University departments, as well as supporting admissions events, offer holder activities and open days where required

Skills and experience
The successful candidates will have experience of data input and accurate record keeping, strong administrative experience gained within a busy environment and excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Applicants should be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, and previous experience within a higher education environment would be advantageous.

 
You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational abilities and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential, along with a flexible approach to work, a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and the confidence to communicate effectively with a diverse range of students, colleagues and stakeholders.
