Description

Role

We are looking for student representation at the Careers and Employability Service reception in the Portland Building. The expectation is to offer two 3-hour shifts (10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm) from Monday to Friday during term time.

Start Date: 21/09/2026

End Date: 30/07/2027

Working Hours: 2 sessions a week 10.00-1.00 or 1.00 -4.00 on rota with the other students Monday - Friday

Pay Rate: £14.27 per hour

Holiday Pay Rate: £1.72 per hour 

Location: Careers and Employability Service, Portland Building, University Park  Campus, University of Nottingham

Dress Code: Smart Casual 

Duties and responsibilities

-To be the first point of contact for all staff, student and visitors to the Careers and Employability Service (CES)offices in the Portland building

-To deal with incoming telephone enquiries to CES To arrange careers appointments for current students

-To refer enquiries to other areas of the department/university as appropriate

-To work with colleagues across the department on one off projects

-Full training will be given week commencing 21st September with shifts starting on the 28th

Skills and experience

-A current undergraduate or postgraduate-taught student

-Ability to work as part of a team as the CES “Student Operations Team"

-Ability to manage your own time and achieve work to set deadlines

-Project management skills

-Ability to handle confidential information

-Previous experience working in a customer service environment
