Role
The temporary worker will provide administrative support to staff and visitors of the Accelerated Compute Infrastructure Training Hub (ACIT Hub) at the University of Surrey, helping to create a professional and welcoming environment.
The role is due to start as soon as possible and will initially be for approximately three months. There may be the possibility of an extension, subject to business requirements.
Part time (18 hours) or Full time (36 hours). - please confirm your preference in your cover letter.
We operate a hybrid working model and, for this part-time role, the postholder will be expected to work on campus one day per week (or more,if preferred).
£17.13 per hour plus £2.07 per hour holiday pay.
Duties and responsibilities
The Hub hosts frequent events, and the postholder will handle room bookings, event set-up, and transport and accommodation for visitors.
They will manage finance administration for the Hub, including processing transactions, maintaining accurate records and producing reports as required.
They will also support the ACIT Hub team by acting as secretary for meetings, monitoring shared email inboxes,and guiding external learners and trainers through Hub processes.
Skills and experience
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and customer-focused,able to work autonomously and use their judgement to keep things moving while keeping colleagues informed.
Knowledge of how universities operate would be an advantage, though no technical subject knowledge is required.
Some travel to events across the UK and occasional work outside core hours will be required.
