About the Role

The Department of Economics is seeking two experienced administrators to join its Undergraduate Office on a temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of undergraduate teaching programmes and contribute to an outstanding student experience within one of the UK's leading Economics departments.

The Undergraduate Office is a busy and fast-paced environment supporting a large student population. Working as part of a friendly and supportive team, you will provide administrative support across a wide range of activities and will be a key point of contact for students and academic staff.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responding to student and staff enquiries in person, by email and online.
  • Supporting module registration and maintaining student records.
  • Assisting with timetabling, assessments, examinations and feedback processes.
  • Supporting the administration of mitigating circumstances and other student-related procedures.
  • Providing general administrative support to undergraduate programmes.
  • Assisting with key student-facing events, including Open Days, enrolment and graduation ceremonies.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth delivery of teaching and learning activities.

Skills and experience

  • We are looking for candidates who:
  • Are educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent).
  • Have previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within a higher education or student-facing environment.
  • Possess excellent organisational skills and can effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Have strong IT skills and experience working with a range of software systems.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Are able to build positive working relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Can work both independently and as part of a team in a busy office environment.
