Role
Join our Placements team, supporting the coordination of clinical placements and delivering an efficient, student-focused administrative service.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Notify placement areas and students regarding their placement allocations.
  • Map placements for upcoming months by inputting placement data into relevant software and alerting relevant parties to future shortfalls.
  • Ensure all audits are completed on time and follow up on any issues requiring attention.
  • Provide NHS and independent partners, students, and City, University of London academic staff with a responsive and accurate service.
  • Produce regular and ad hoc data reports for a variety of partners in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure accurate placement data is available to students and staff in a timely manner.
  • Support the placements team and wider department as required.
  • Carry out any other duties as appropriate and requested by the post-holder's manager.

Skills and experience

  • Knowledge of university procedures and systems required to carry out the role effectively.
  • Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills for spreadsheet design and database manipulation.
  • Understanding of the current NHS landscape, particularly in London (desirable).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer-centred approach.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret information from multiple sources to produce meaningful results (desirable).
  • Previous administrative experience in a similar office-based role.
  • Experience working with a wide range of customers and stakeholders.
  • Experience using CRM systems.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement new processes, systems, and service improvements.
  • Experience working in Higher Education, particularly within health-related areas (desirable).
  • Experience analysing basic qualitative and quantitative data (desirable).
  • Educated to A-level standard (or equivalent) or possess equivalent experience gained in a similar role, preferably within a Higher Education institution.
  • Degree educated (desirable).
