Role
To support our undergraduate open days on Saturday 3 October and Saturday 7 November. 

 
Start date
 
Wednesday 23rd September training (in person, timings and location tbc)
 
30th September - 30 minutes virtual briefing session 
 
Saturday 3rd October – shift, 8.00am – 5.00pm. 
 
Additional shifts:  Saturday 7 November - 8.00am – 5.00pm. Each shift requires attendance at a 30-minute virtual briefing session. 
 
Duration
 
9.5 hours for each open day shift and briefing, plus an estimated 2 hours for training on Campus and Accommodation. 

Duties and responsibilities
Creating a warm, welcoming environment by being friendly and approachable, offering campus and accommodation tours, giving directions, and positively promoting the University of Leicester to prospective undergraduate students and their families.

Skills and experience

  • Currently studying at the University of Leicester, either as an undergraduate or postgraduate student.
  • A positive attitude towards the University of Leicester, our facilities and courses
  • Friendly and approachable  
  • Excellent Customer service skills (experience of or an understanding of what excellent customer service is)
  • Ability to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Organised and able to multi-task 
  • Excellent time management skills (reliable and punctual) 
  • Ability to engage with young people (face to face and via virtual platforms)
  • Ability to work on own and use own initiative where appropriate 
  • Knowledge of the University of Leicester, including its campus
