Description
Role
The Admin and Communications Assistant supports the day-to-day running of our client. This is a varied and flexible role focused on administration, database management, and communications, with wider organisational support as needed.
This is a practical, part-time role suited to someone who is organised, proactive, and comfortable supporting a busy community environment.
Working days are Monday - Friday, 20 hours per week. The end date for this position is the end of September 2026.
Duties and responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Provide day-to-day administrative support across the organisation
- Support management of emails and enquiries
- Maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems
- Assist with data entry and maintaining project records
Social Media and Marketing
- Support delivery of marketing and communications
- Create and schedule engaging social media content
- Promote events, activities, and services to increase awareness and participation
- Update and maintain the organisation’s website and digital channels
- Assist in producing promotional materials (e.g. flyers, newsletters, posters)
- Monitor engagement and share basic insights
Community Engagement
- Support the promotion and delivery of community events and activities
- Help maintain positive relationships with local residents, groups, and partners
- Gather informal feedback from volunteers and residents to inform future activities

General and Ad Hoc Duties
- Provide flexible support to colleagues and projects as required
- Provide occasional support to wider organisational processes (e.g. reporting or documentation)
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the role
Skills and experience
Essential
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
- Friendly, approachable, and community-focused attitude
- Design skills (e.g. Canva or similar tools)
- Experience in a community, charity, or voluntary sector setting
- Interest in community development and local engagement
