The role:

To provide administrative support to the Adam Redfern Memorial Fund, in particular the Heart Safe Campus initiative which focusses on raising awareness around cardiac arrest and giving individuals the skills and knowledge to help casualties in need of CPR/defibrillator use. The role will also support key events throughout the year such as the Run for Redfern and the Football Tournament. 

  • The role 5 hours per week with a hybrid working pattern, joining the team on campus on Thursdays.
  • This role is for DMU students only and will run from 1 October to 31 March.
  • Interviews expected late August/ early September

Duties and responsibilities

  • Arranging training sessions for the First Aid training and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use to students. This includes venue booking, liaising with external trainers if required, creating promotional materials and managing the events on the day
  • Collating feedback from participants of the training and presenting this to the Adam Redfern Committee to demonstrate impact
  • Managing the pool of volunteer Ambassadors. Proving them with support as needed and arranging for them to attend 2 focus group sessions (1 each in T1 and T2).
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to further guide and develop the Heart Safe Campus

Skills and experience

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at grade C or above
  • Experience of providing administrative support
  • Experience of working within a team
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office (or equivalent) and web-based applications
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workload with minimal supervision in a logical and transparent manner
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively both internally and externally at all levels
  • Professional and approachable manner at all times
  • Willingness to work occasional out of office hours (e.g. evenings and weekends)
  • Experience of data collection and reporting
