Unitemps are acting as an Employment Business, supplying temporary workers, in relation to this vacancy.

We are seeking creative Content Creators to join our Marketing and Communications student staff Freshers team!

Please note that this is for current students of the University of Nottingham only.

We’re looking for individuals with a passion for social media that manifests itself through exploration and brings new ideas to the table. In this role, you will support the Marketing and Communications team by developing engaging and high-quality content for various social media platforms, particularly Instagram. This role entails creating content for UoNSU socials, as well as collaborating with local Nottingham businesses, such as Disco Bowl and Tramlink.

The ideal candidate will have experience with and be active on a variety of social media platforms such as Instagram, as well as potential experience of, graphic design and Adobe Creative Suite.  You will also have strong copywriting skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be creative.

This position will be fixed to work during the Freshers welcome period from 14th September 26 for 3 weeks. There will be a variety of shifts available every day within this time period that can be anytime from 9am – 12am, at a range of events such as Freshers Fairs and affiliated club nights, e.g. Ocean and Crisis. Pay Rate: £12.71 an hour plus holiday pay at 12.07%
Location: University Park

Duties and responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications and Social Media team to develop and execute content strategies and content briefs for campaigns to be included on the SU social media channels and website.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and algorithm updates on TikTok and Instagram.
  • Assist with content shoots at events and activities, including planning, filming and
  • capturing behind-the-scenes footage, ensuring high quality output.
  • Edit video footage using Capcut, Premiere Pro or similar editing tools.
  • Promote events by taking live media footage and posting this on the SU Instagram story.
  • Proofread copy for the website or news articles.
  • Work to fixed brand guidelines and ensure media is coherent with current communication.
  • Generate ideas for content that fit with the Students’ Union image, interviewing students and potentially staff.

Skills and experience

  • Experience with and be active on a variety of social media platforms; Instagram Graphic Design experience
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent spelling and grammar
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly
  • Innovative, with an ability to use own initiative to problem solve and improve efficiency in performance.
  • Knowledge of what students want to see their SU posting online
  • Networking skills
  • Strong copywriting skills, particularly for young adult audiences
