Role
The Tutor Trust is a proudly Northern charity that provides tutoring in schools on a not-for-profit basis. Their mission is to transform lives through tutoring – The Tutor Trust offer subsidised, high-quality tutoring to young people who might otherwise not have access to a tutor. We believe in equity in education, regardless of postcode or background, so every young person can unlock their full potential.
They partner with primary and secondary schools, colleges and other educational providers to deliver high-quality, high-impact tutoring in English, maths and science to young people across Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire, and Merseyside. In addition, they also work with young people in Alternative Provision (AP) settings and with cared for children.

Duties and responsibilities
About the role
- You’ll plan and deliver tuition for groups of up to four pupils.
- You’ll form impactful relationships with pupils over the course of a tuition assignment
- Tutoring usually takes place during the school day on the school premises.
Skills and experience
What we’re looking for
- A minimum of three hours of availability per week, though your actual hours may vary based on school demand.
- For Primary, a grade of B/6 in both English and Maths GCSEs (or equivalent), and for Secondary tutors, a grade of A/7 in the relevant GCSE subject (or equivalent). Extenuating circumstances will be considered.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check, provided and paid for by The Tutor Trust.
