Unitemps are recruiting for a Research Assistant - KTP Finisher Role (Project Management and Business Analytics with AI). This role has an asap start date (early August) and a projected end date of April 1st 2027. This is a full-time role at 36.5 hours per week (projected). Payment is set at £20.57 per hour + £3.85 holiday pay. This role is UCL based at the SRC offices (30 Churchill Place, London, E14 5EU).
 

This Research Assistant role  works across both industry and academia offering an excellent development opportunity for those interested in project management and business analytics/AI in infrastructure. The successful candidate will get to apply their commercial, technical, project management and creative skills on a daily basis to a cutting edge innovative project that will shape the future of business operations, including project management, in professional service firms in construction. The working location will be at SRC offices: 30 Churchill Place, London, E14 5EU. Due to funding restrictions, the maximum full-time salary offered will be £39,807 per annum (including London Allowance) which is equivalent to UCL Grade 6, spinal point 26.

We are open to salary negotiations wherein the duration of the appointment is shortened to meet funding restrictions.

Duties and responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a relevant MSc degree (or near completion) in Business Analytics, Operations, Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Project Management or a closely related subject. The post holder will lead a cutting edge innovation project that will develop an AI and business analytics capability to enhance business operations within the context of a professional service firm, focusing on operational project management and business development. Based at SRC Infrastructure, a project delivery and engineering consultancy specialising in the development of infrastructure projects, the Research Assistant – KTP Finisher will engage with industry stakeholders to establish themselves as a thought leader in the field of leading professional service firms deliver infrastructure projects effectively and efficiently using business analytics/AI.

The objectives of the project are:

1: Operational Efficiency Improvement - targeting the development of the project management office (PMO), centralised data management, and workflow standardisation.

2: Business Development Enhancement - enhance proposal crafting process, highlight SRC's strengths, and fine-tune strategies to increase the firm's success rate in securing projects.

3: Performance Enhancement in Project Delivery - monitoring and enhancing project performance, detecting non-compliances, automating report writing processes, reducing redundancy and repetitiveness within the firm's project delivery processes.

Skills and experience

Strong communication skills, a collaborative and self-motivated attitude, and good project management skills will ensure the Research Assistant fully enjoys the benefits of their unique position at the interface between industry and academia. 

A background Business Analytics, Operations, Business Management, Industrial Engineering and Project Management, will enable the post-holder to take charge of this project.
