Description

Role
We are seeking a temporary member of staff to join our small but busy team to support new international students at the Tooting Campus, as well as continuing students, with the CAS issuing process. The postholder will also assist with the organisation and delivery of registration and re-registration for international students in September, including undertaking Right to Study checks.

Under the guidance of the Senior Visa Compliance Officer, the postholder will monitor changes in student status and support UKVI reporting requirements, including reporting students where the University stops sponsorship due to a visa refusal or delay, a change to the student's arrival date, or failure to enrol. 

The postholder will liaise with colleagues across the University to ensure effective communication and the timely exchange of accurate information, supporting compliance with UKVI sponsorship requirements.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To provide assistance and support to the Visa Compliance Team 
  • To ensure that City St George's remains fully compliant with UKVI sponsorship duties. 
  • Monitor the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) issuing process, ensuring that all information is accurate and complies with Home Office guidance (specifically for students in Tooting Campus).

Skills and experience

  • Some knowledge of UKVI compliance and the Points Based System as well as knowledge and understanding of the HE student life cycle. 
  • Excellent IT skills, including strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. 
  • Experience in using databases and records systems. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person (if required), in writing and email, and by telephone with a diverse range of people.
  • A commitment to excellent service delivery. 
  • High level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail is extremely important for this role.
