Description

Role
This Student Ambassador role will represent and support the engagement and administrative activity carried out by the GRID Business and Enterprise directorate.

Duties and responsibilities
Leading duties: 

  • Visitor welcome and signposting
  • Event day registration and facilitation
  • Meeting room set up and tech checks
  • Maintain and track contract and subscription data including key dates costs and details (Eventbrite, Salesforce, Sales Navigator etc)
  • Simple photography and content creation
  • Update Purchase card tracker
  • Update Purchase order tracker spreadsheetStudent stories and testimonials from events (getting quotes for 'good news')
  • Collecting feedback and analysing data after an event
  • Drafting event summaries and highlights after an event
  • Designing leaflets/visuals for events on Canva/Adobe 

Supporting Duties:

  • Front of house in the Business & Enterprise office - guest and office management
  • Managing room bookings
  • Managing GRID inboxBuilding engagement communities
  • Support of Women of Watt initiative
  • Support of Global Innovation Challenge (manage online attendees)
  • Support ad-hoc workshops
  • Co ordinate event logistics
  • Support management event registrations
  • Support communication with guest speakers and attendees
  • Update team Sharepoint when necessary with new event images

Skills and experience
1. Experience of working within a similar environment as outlined above
2. Competent in the use of relevant IT packages and Canva or Adobe packages
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. An understanding of Heriot Watt University's schools and subject areas
5. Demonstrable professional and proactive approach
6. Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly and accurately in a dynamic, changing environment
7. Experience of team working and effectiveness as a good team player with a can-do attitude.
8. Willingness to learn 

 
Desirable but not essential
  • Competent is creative software(s) (e.g. Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Experience of using CRM system (e.g. Salesforce)
