Description

Role

Research & Impact Services seek an administrator with experience of programme co-ordination and/or project management to join and support the Knowledge Exchange (KE) Team (Head of Enterprise and Innovation, Knowledge Exchange Manager, and Knowledge Transfer Officer) in the operations and delivery of Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) and Accelerated Knowledge Transfer (AKT) programmes. These programmes are funded externally by Innovate UK, with contributions from Business Partners.

Since 1975, KTPs have driven innovation and growth by creating collaborations between businesses and academic institutions. Through the placement of highly qualified graduates, businesses gain innovative solutions, new technologies, and expertise over 12-36 months.

KTPs are highly valued by the University of Warwick. They constitute essential KE and impact activity and make a critical contribution to our assessment in the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) and Research Excellence Framework (REF). To manage existing demand and our portfolio, we require an experienced programme co-ordinator and/or project management specialist to support the KE Team across project lifecycles, including pre- and post-funding award support for individual KTPs. This is an exciting opportunity where the postholder will support all aspects of application development, project costing, due diligence, recruitment, IP agreement, financial claims, and final reporting.

Duties and responsibilities

1.    Operating as a first point-of-contact for enquiries regarding prospective and current KTPs and acting as a key liaison between internal teams, including Business Partnerships, Contracts, and Finance.

2.    Engaging in relationship management with diverse stakeholder groups, including researchers, academic departments, external partners, funders, and internal teams.

3.    Develop an understanding of KTP and their operation, including how they are supported and managed internally.

4.    Supporting the preparation and development of KTP applications and contracts, working closely with the KE Team, researchers, academic departments, Research Support, and Research Contracts.

5.    Costing proposals and ensuring that applications comply with University financial regulations and funder terms and conditions.

6.    Providing wide-ranging administrative support for application submission, ensuring that applications are submitted on time, in alignment with funder expectations, and having been authorised in line with University financial regulations.

7.    Supporting the recruitment process for KTP Associates.

8.    Monitoring KTP projects and providing day-to-day administrative support for our KTP portfolio.

9.    Supporting financial claims and final reporting processes in line with University and funder regulations.

10.    Any other KTP related tasks as required by the Knowledge Exchange Manager.

Skills and experience

•    A good honours degree or appropriate professional qualification and/or equivalent professional experience;

•    Proven experience of project and/or programme management;

•    Strong engagement and relationship management skills and ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders;

•    Proven ability to manage complex projects and prioritise workload within defined timescales;

•    Has demonstrated initiative and proven ability to work independently and as part of a team;

•    Excellent numerical skills and ability to generate, interpret, and present financial data;

•    Excellent verbal and written and communication skills;

•    An interest in working within a research support and/or KE role in a Higher Education environment.
