Role

An experienced Apprenticeship Assessor – Leadership and Management is required for a two-week temporary assignment within the Apprenticeships Hub.

This role will involve conducting Tripartite Reviews, assessing apprenticeship evidence, providing constructive feedback to learners, and supporting apprentices throughout their programme. The successful candidate will work closely with apprentices, employers, managers, and mentors to ensure progress is monitored effectively while maintaining compliance with DfE funding requirements and quality standards.

Please note: This role is fully remote. This is a two-week temporary assignment and is not suitable for current students or recent graduates.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for conducting Tripartite Reviews and providing assessment, feedback on evidence submitted within Apprenticeship programmes.
  • Provide support to apprentices with the delivery of Functional Skills in English and Maths (where required).
  • Contributes to the Apprenticeships Team through the completion of monthly progress reports, updating and marking within the LMS, and ensuring full compliance with DfE and Ofsted regulations.
  • Engages with employers through review meetings and maintains strong professional relationships.
  • Conduct and attend Tripartite meetings as required to comply with DfE funding rules, including representing the University externally at working groups etc. Attend any further meetings as required.
  • To provide a point of proactive and regular contact with professionals you train directly and their managers and mentors.
  • To maintain an accurate and secure audit trail of all relevant communication and documentation
  • To assess submitted work, offer constructive feedback to learners and report on progress and findings.
  • Monitor levels of customer satisfaction through setting up appropriate feedback mechanisms, ensuring that customer feedback is fed into future course design and strategic development.
  • Identify areas of improvement and best practice and feedback to the Head of Apprenticeships and QA Manager.
  • To ensure that evidence submitted on the e-portfolio is marked in a timely manner.

Skills and experience

Must have a minimum assessor award such as TAQA, V1, D32/33 or equivalent experience is overseeing or managing Apprenticeship courses (at least 3 years)

Leadership/Management related NVQ level 5 or equivalent experience of at least 3 years at a senior level

PTLSS, or equivalent teaching qualification

  • Experience of working with E-portfolio systems 
  • Experience of working in apprenticeships from L5, L6 or L7 management standards (new and old standards)
  • Experience in conducting reviews in a timely manner, maintaining DfE compliance and quality, involving both Learner and Employer
  • Experience in providing information, advice and guidance in relation to End Point Assessments and Apprenticeship Standards
