Role
The Bayes Career & Professional Development Team is dedicated to supporting our MBA and MSc students and recent alumni in all aspects of their career planning and professional development. We are committed to partnering with students to develop lifelong employability skills in preparation for diverse careers within business.
Working closely with colleagues across the organisation and in the Career Operations team, Careers Team Assistant will be responsible for executing the delivery of our credit bearing Career Impact Modules and corporate engagement student programme.
Duties and responsibilities
The role holder will be expected to administer the programme delivery schedule and ensure the smooth delivery of a variety of workshops, corporate engagement events and one-to-one appointments across our postgraduate student populations. As an example, tasks will include but not be limited to: creating packs for workshops, updating distribution lists, updating student attendance lists, updating credit bearing unit records, checking data quality, booking students into one to ones and workshops, ad hoc PA support. The role holder will also be responsible for updating our Learning Management and Resource system (BCO} which supports thousands of students and alumni across our Post Graduate programmes. This includes ensuring events are added to the system, available to the relevant student populations, managing invites and communications for the events, general management of student data and analysis of student feedback after events.
They will need to work closely with the rest of the Career Operations Team and other internal departments (IT, AV, Facilities etc.) to successfully organize and deliver the Career Impact and Events schedule. In addition, the role holder will need to build effective working relationships with the Professional Development and Relationship Managers in the MBA and MSc teams to understand and provide the specific requirements for each event.
The role holder is expected to deliver a high-quality service to a wide range of stakeholders and be a positive ambassador for the Bayes Careers & Professional Development team.
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, excellent organisational, recording keeping and IT skills. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately to a wide variety of people. You need the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external contacts and demonstrate excellent event management and overall exemplary customer service.
You will be expected to be able to exercise initiative in selecting a best course of action from available options and anticipate potential problems and suggest solutions. The team are busy and there will be a number of events running at any one time so the ability to be organised, prioritise and remain calm under pressure are essential.
The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE (A-C) in English and Maths or equivalent, A-levels (A-C) and a degree is desirable.
