Description
Role
To provide administrative support as the Examinations Officer for a range of programmes of study and to support the delivery of formal examinations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Coordinate the administration of examinations, including the secure preparation, processing and distribution of examination papers and materials.
- Plan and manage examination timetables, candidate entries, room allocations, invigilators and resources for both paper-based and online assessments.
- Maintain accurate student assessment records, process examination results and support Examination Boards.
- Ensure examinations are delivered in accordance with awarding body regulations, maintaining the security and confidentiality of examination materials and student data.
- Provide guidance and support to staff, students and invigilators on examination procedures and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with academic and administrative teams to deliver an efficient examination service, meeting strict deadlines throughout the academic year.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of awarding body requirements, safeguarding, PREVENT and data protection legislation (GDPR).
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.
Skills and experience
- Previous administrative experience, including handling confidential information.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using databases or student record systems.
