Role
Course Administrator
Duties and responsibilities
1. Being Student/Customer focused
• Act as a point of contact for student and prospective student enquiries, responding via email, phone and in person.
• Provide accurate and timely information on a wide range of course-related and administrative matters.
• Ensure a professional, responsive and supportive service to all stakeholders.
2. Planning and organising
• Support administrative processes across the student lifecycle
• Maintain accurate student records and ensure tasks are completed in line with deadlines.
• Assist in coordinating course-related activities and communications.
3. Interpersonal skills (including communicating and influencing)
• Work collaboratively with academic staff and professional services teams.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with students and colleagues.
• Support effective communication between the School and students.
4. Problem solving and decision making (including initiative)
• Resolve routine queries and issues in line with established procedures.
• Identify issues and escalate more complex queries appropriately.
5. Leadership and management (including teamwork)
• Work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to shared workload.
• Provide cover for other administrative roles as required.
6. Taking Responsibility
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records within systems (e.g. SITS, VLE).
• Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality requirements.
7. Budgetary/Financial Controls
• Support administrative processes relating to student-related financial activity where required.

Skills and experience
Qualifications and Knowledge
1. Educated to A Level or equivalent
2. Experience using IT systems including databases and MS Office
3. Knowledge of student records systems (e.g. SITS) or similar
4. Knowledge of VLE systems (e.g. Moodle/Canvas)
5. Knowledge of higher education environment

7. Ability to support a diverse range of students andstakeholders
