Description
Role
The Centre for Lifelong Learning at the University of Warwick is seeking interviewees and group work participants for our students to practice their career coaching skills with.
The students on our course are members of staff from different career coaching services across the UK. During the course, they will be developing their career coaching skills and that’s where you come in!
Duties and responsibilities

Our coaches need to practice working with people who have some career uncertainty i.e. not sure what they want to do next. So, if that’s true for you then you’d be suitable. We’re looking for people who are genuinely unsure about their future career direction. If you are 100% sure about your future career then, thanks for reading this far, but you’re not suitable for us this time.
We would like you to participate in two kinds of activity: 1. Group work sessions (e.g. each lasting around 45 minutes) on general career-related topics.
2. Individual discussions (e.g. each lasting around 45 minutes) focused on career exploration and identifying options.
We are focusing on helping our students learn the process of career coaching e.g. how you set up and begin interactions. You will likely experience this several times during the two days. At this point, our focus is not on training the coaches to provide you with detailed career information, jobsearch advice, or applications advice. It’s more about the skills of starting and maintaining a career coaching interaction. You will also be asked to provide some feedback on your experiences. We will supply further briefing information prior to starting.
You must be able to turn up promptly at the agreed start time and be available for the specified hours. The schedule is not too demanding and there will be some downtime during the day where you can work or read quietly on your own.
