Role

We require the services of photographers with prior experience of events and/or portrait photography for the City St George’s & Bayes winter graduation ceremonies taking place at The Barbican on the following dates:

• Friday 10 July – AM - School of Health & Medical Sciences (note AM ONLY)

• Monday 13 July – AM - The City Law School/ PM - The City Law School

• Tuesday 14 July – AM - School of Policy and Global Affairs/ PM - School of Communication and Creativity, School of Policy and Global Affairs, Learning Enhancement and Development (LEaD)

• Wednesday 15 July – AM- School of Communication and Creativity, School of Science & Technology/ PM - School of Science & Technology

• Thursday 16 July – AM - Bayes Business School/ PM - Bayes Business School

Shift times will be as follows: 

• First shift: 11:30pm to 2:00pm

• Second shift: 3.30pm to 5:00pm. 

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply for full days (i.e. two shifts) according to their availability, PLEASE state this clearly on your cover letter. 

Interested applicants will need to supply the following:

• A portfolio or links to examples of previous work

• A brief description of their prior experience

• An indication of the date(s) that they would prefer/would be available in the event of being selected.

Duties and responsibilities

Below are the types of content we would like the chosen photographers to capture. Selected photos will be used primarily, but not exclusively, for City St George’s & Bayes social media channels and marketing materials:

• Arrival of graduands with their families for ceremonies

• General “atmosphere” shots as attendees await ceremonies/celebrate afterwards

• Close-ups/posed shots with consenting graduands and/or family members

• Shots of graduands as they come out of the completed ceremony, on the ground floor Barbican foyer and on the outside patio area

• Individual/mini-group/larger group shots

Skills and experience
The chosen photographer(s) will need:

 
• Their own camera equipment and ability to edit/transfer large files without delay
 
• The confidence to approach graduands and their guests to ask if they would like to pose for photos
 
• Produce a substantial amount of good quality photos in a short amount of time
 
• Work in both indoor and outdoor environments with changing light conditions
 
• The ability to travel in/to central London and be available on the agreed times
