Description

Role
To assist in the effective administration of the recruitment and admissions process for Masters programmes and to provide a high-quality service to all relevant stakeholders including enquirers, applicants, offer holders, current students, academics, alumni and colleagues in the central student recruitment, outreach and admissions service.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide effective and comprehensive customer focused administrative support for Masters programmes.
  • Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from potential applicants.
  • Provide support and guidance for enquirers through a variety of media (e.g. face to face, email, online, telephone), ensuring that enquiries are responded to in a helpful, appropriate and timely way and escalating queries where appropriate.
  • Process applications into an appropriate format for selectors, including pre-screening applicants against agreed criteria and communicating application decisions reached by the academic selectors (e.g. in cases where there is clear evidence to demonstrate that the applicant does not meet the minimum criteria for the course or programme for which they have applied). 
  • Provide administrative support to ensure that accurate and timely admissions decisions are made and communicated to applicants.
  • Assist in the maintenance of accurate records (i.e. from pre-application to onboarding) through data held on customer relationship and management information systems, ensuring the timely provision of information to internal and external stakeholders as required (e.g. applicants, sponsors, current students, faculty, other University departments).
  • Assist in the organisation of a range of recruitment events in the UK and overseas (including both face-to-face and online events). This may include booking the venue; publishing the information externally in advance; handling event booking/queries; including the sourcing and provision of AV/IT equipment; provision of evaluation forms; confirming accommodation, refreshment, security access and cleaning arrangements.
  • Participate in internal and public events (e.g. recruitment events and Open Events at Warwick and London Campus).
  • Provide flexible support for related teams as required.

Skills and experience

Essential Criteria

  1. Educated to GCSE or equivalent
  2. Experience of working in an administrative environment, dealing with queries and providing advice and guidance
  3. Strong administrative skills
  4. Excellent customer focused skills
  5. Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a flexible team environment
  6. Experience of maintaining electronic records on a management information system
  7. Ability to work to deadlines
  8. Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and with attention to detail
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills through a range of relevant media (e.g. face to face, email, telephone)
  10. Proficient IT skills including word processing, databases, spread sheets and presentation software

Desirable Criteria

  1. Educated to A level
  2. Experience of working within a HE environment

Location
Combinations of working on campus and working from home.
