Share Your Story: Student Advice and Wellbeing Services

Have you used the Student Advice and Wellbeing Service and had a positive experience?

Student Advice and Wellbeing Services include any of these services:

  • Wellbeing Advice 
  • Money Advice- Counselling (workshops, appointments)
  • TogetherAll (self-help resources)
  • Disability Support Services
  • Specialist Study Skills
  • Inclusion Support-Accommodation Support

We're looking for students who would be willing to take part in a short video case study to share their experience of accessing support and the difference it has made to their university journey.

The video will help raise awareness of the support available and encourage other students who may benefit from reaching out.

Duties and responsibilities

What's Involved?

  • Taking part in a filmed interview (approximately 30–60 minutes) - which will be edited down into a short video for social media and web content. 
  • Speaking about your experience of using Student Advice and Wellbeing services
  • Sharing how the support impacted your wellbeing, studies, confidence, or university experience
  • Filming will take place on campus at a mutually convenient time

  1. What initially brought you to Student Advice and Wellbeing services?2
  2. What challenges or concerns were you experiencing at the time?
  3. What made you decide to reach out for support?
  4. How did staff make you feel when you accessed support? 
  5. What aspects of the support did you find most helpful? 
  6. Was there a particular member of staff or interaction that stood out to you? Why (optional)
  7. What would you say to somebody nervous about asking for help?
  8. What has changed most since receiving support

Skills and experience

What We’re Looking For 

  • Current LJMU student (any level or course) 
  • Strong written and/or visual communication skills 
  • Creative, reliable, and collaborative 
  • Passionate about student voice and inclusion
