Role
Support required for a variety of immersive learning-related tasks over the summer while capacity building in this area.
Duties and responsibilities
Duties will be varied, but all fit broadly within the category of supporting immersive learning. Tasks are likely to include working with team to develop understanding of key technologies (eg motion capture, 3D scanning), development of immersive learning content using a range of different techniques, helping define new service design processes around booking facilities and equipment, and wider desk research around the prevalence of immersive learning facilities at other UK higher education institutions.
Skills and experience
- Experience of writing user-documentation and reports.
- Experience in supporting multimedia projects, including scoping, storyboarding and editing. (desirable, not essential)-
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft 365.
- Experience of prior work with immersive technologies (eg virtual reality, 360 filming) of games engines (eg Unity) also beneficial.
- Good customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues without clear or predefined solutions.
- Good organisation and time management skills with the ability to manage and prioritise own work.
- A flexible approach to work with the ability to work as part of a team and to share and discuss ideas.
